Momentum to Method
Building a strategic, yet agile decision-making framework for the Brynn Wheeler Foundation.
Through a focused strategic sprint, we worked with the foundation's core leadership to clarify their vision, map out their capacity and goals, establish clear boundaries, and codify their collective vision into four distinct "Investment Pillars." Rather than a dense, static plan, the goal was to build a real-time decision-making filter for the team.
After a year and a half of building incredible momentum, the Foundation found itself with an abundance of great ideas but no clear filter to prioritize them. Operating with limited team capacity, the leadership team needed a practical way to determine which opportunities to pursue immediately and which ones to hold for later, without losing their core focus or burning out.
Within days of finalizing the pillars, the team used them to evaluate a pro bono offer for a major new fundraising event—allowing them to step back, assess the real capacity required, and make an intentional decision on timing rather than jumping in based on external energy alone. The Foundation now has a clear two-year roadmap and the structural guardrails needed to grow with intention.
“For a relatively new nonprofit, the timing was perfect. Up front, it felt a little overwhelming to figure out how we’d get from point A to point B in a limited amount of time, but you just have to trust Liz's expertise to guide the collaboration and ask the right questions.”
